Sustainability is a core focus for our business and embodies our growth strategy.

The Fort Independence Indian Community and leaders of Grinding Rock Aggregates are all committed to growing and developing the Owens Valley. Our goals will only be met if we generate long-term economic benefits for the community while also delivering utmost care for the environment.

  • ENVIRONMENT

The Indian Environmental General Assistance Program (GAP) Act of 1992 authorizes the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide grant funding to federally recognized Native American tribes and intertribal consortia for planning and developing the capacity to manage their own environmental protection programs and planning, developing, and implementing solid and hazardous waste programs.

The Fort Independence Indian Community uses GAP funds to develop tribal administrative and regulatory infrastructure (i.e., capacity building) to effectively protect the reservation environment and enhance the quality of life of tribal residents.

Grinding Rock Aggregates adheres to all of the environmental practices we have developed and honed over decades.
